Tour of Kansas City
Day 3
Day 3
I am a bit behind on the updates but in my short amount of time now I must mention the amazingly out of this world effort teammate Stefan Rothe put out on Sundays crit for the Tour of Kansas City. With temperatures reaching 102 degrees and the pavement at 130 the final days crit was a race of hydration and energy left from the previous two days battling.
Stefan broke away with about 40 minutes to go in the hour and a half crit and held off a chase of 70 riders all by himself. The gap would go from 10-40 seconds throughout the race and our Mercy team worked well to hold off attacks and keep Stefan up the road solo. He held it until the finish for a very deserving victory. Does anyone have pictures of that? Email me if you do.
Bran Jenson won the overall with a dominating performance in both Friday and Saturdays races. Someone check the Operation Puerto list for the initials B.J. Brain, I mean this as a compliment, unless.........
Now I gotta pack to go up to Fayetteville for several days then continue on to Durango to head back to school. Thanks for reading.
