Tour of Arkansas is giving me a beating from the start. The opening stage today was 110 miles with 10,500 feet/climbing. I had stomach pains at mile 45 and it was downhill from there. After ending up in the second main group on the major climb I just did all I could to ride in for the day. I ended up 34th today which is still 10 places better than last year, however in my last showing I was in the front group. I guess Gila and Joe Martin are catching up to me as far as fatigue goes. I have a break after this week, as long as I can make it through the weekend. We still have 2 more 100 mile days and a final crit on Sunday.
As I mentioned in my last post, I projected correctly and have awesome host housing. In fact, I have an entire house to my self, so I reckon I am the host. It is kinda lonely but it turns nice for the much needed 2 hour nap after todays demoralizing ride. Shannon comes in tomorrow so team manager will be working in full force for Saturdays stage.
