Teal Stetson-Lee of the FLC Cycling team hit a car about three weeks ago warming up for the short track race at Nationals. She got a big patch of road rash on her hip, but went on to be the top placed rider on our team in 5th place just 30 minutes later.

She put the accident behind her but just yesterday, and after doing several races since then, her leg swelled up and she got a 103 fever. She was taken to Mercy Medical Center here in Durango and immediately had 75cc's of fluid removed. The road rash has become infected, but because the top layer of skin healed the infection could only move inward, toward her muscle. To keep this story rated G and short, she had surgery today to remove alot of who knows what. Schmidty and I went and saw here at the hospital, while Chad Wells being his awesome self as usual was by here side.

She was in good spirits and will hopefully be able to return home Saturday afternoon after two days in the hospital. Think about her and I'm sure she would love to hear/see friends.

A full recovery is expected and no actual muscle had to be removed. However, her muscle is disconnected from her skin. Ok, sorry but you wanted to know.
