Road Apple Rally
Farmington, NM

This morning I rode down to Farmington, NM for race mentioned above with Chad Chenny and his buddies. My race was over in about 20 minutes, I was sleepy tired and so were the legs. I would honestly say that race may be more fun off the back than at the front. I was hitting every jump out there, about 2,000 dirt rollers. I even adjusted my shock several times and re-jumped some. The single speeders caught me as I finished towards the back of the pack.

Bearnaked/Cannondale rider Damian won, Ned Overend second, and Travis Brown third. Tad Elliot took a sweet 5th.

One of the coolest bikes I have seen in a long time was there today. Chris Hearting of 3D racing had his two day old single speed out. Here is it:

The top tube(s) of the B-29er single speed 29" bike. It is a steel frame.

Here is the brake cable entering the frame, VERY clean look.

Here it is coming out near the caliper, even CLEANER look. See if you can notice the Cane Creek carbon rims.

One of the cooler things are the Co2 cartridges hand threaded into the brace on the top tube.

Overall sweetness. The bike has an opening near the rear dérailleur so you can use the new Carbon drive belt system. This bike can be set up as a belt driven bike, traditional single speed with chain or geared bike with dérailleur. The drop outs were covered up with duct tape because the patent on them is still being processed. It should be in production next year.
