Kennebec Ride

(L-R Wells, Schmidty, Timmons, Schultz, Noah)

Today Andy Schultz, David Timmons, Troy Wells, Mike Schmidt and I put in a fun 4 1/2 hours on the mountain bikes. We started with a 1 1/2 hour climb to about 12,000/feet then descended into what seemed like a Costa Rican jungle fest. We crossed a creek a half dozen times and were repeatedly smacked in the face with freshly wet branches. It was then another 45 minute climb and the final descent on the Colorado Trail for about 15 miles. We were covered in mud by the end.

Notes: Andy Schultz was the Michael Rasmusen of the day. Blowing away the entire peleton on the first super climb, then holding his ground against Troy "The Bear" Wells on the second.

Schmidty's downhilling has greatly improved, I was only able to catch up once he broke a spoke on his front wheel. So he's not the smoothest yet but who's counting?

David Timmons was riding as John Tomac today, bombing the downhilss with style and big ringing the climbs when his bike would no long shift do to mud.

Noah: Suffered, then felt OK. Kids, go to bed on time.

Here is the photo journal of the day.
