It went just like last weekend, and thats a really good thing....

This past weekend was the Colorado School of Mines near Winter Park, CO. We were at a ski resort and camped in the parking lot. Pics below of my sweet spot.

Out of all the LOSERS I came in first! Yep another second place in the short track. The very climb heavy short track was perfect for Brian Alders that day as he won by half a lap on the 2 minute lap. Behind me was a CSU guy and Chad Wells of Fort Lewis.

In the XC on Sunday we had a five lap race which went to the top of the resort and straight back down each time, ouch. Brian and I pretty much rode away on lap one and stayed together all the way until the start of lap five in the feed zone. After getting a secret turbo booster (completely legal, I bet your 8 year old drinks more of it than I ever have) I followed an attack by Colin Cares of the U23 National Team and he rode a very swift pace to the top of the climb. He pulled away on the decent and I came in a good minute ahead of Brian. Colin won the Division Two race, I got the Division One. Huge thanks to Dicky Dub for letting me race his Scott hardtail for the race!

(Trevor Downing and I climbed our way up the ski lift for the best seat in the house for the dual slalom race.)

(One day this will be my dream house, a huge tractor next to my house, for now its a huge tractor next to my tent)

(Our secret weapon, Ben from Germany tore a legiment in his hand last weekend and is out for a while)

(Dicky's super sweet and super lightweight bike I rode to victory in the XC on Sunday)
