(Schmidty and I at breakfast)

(Who says you have to get out of your sleeping bag when you get out of bed?)

Sometimes I forget how lucky I really am. My weekend trip to Moab, Utah reminded me: the people, the weather, the riding and the lifestyle all exceeded my expectations. I have ridden there almost a half dozen times now but this trip came at a time when the weather has been cold here in Durango, and it was kinda spur of the moment, so that makes it even more fun.
First, thanks to our supporters for the weekend:
Schmidty and I stayed in the coolest basement apartment ever in the bottom of the Western Spirit offices at the base of the Slick Rock trail. Friday we got in a few hours of riding after the drive up, then played with our bikes all night in the bike shop, conveniently located eight feet from the kitchen. On Friday I rode a new bike called the Erb, which is from the same guy who came out with the Slingshot bike back in the day. I must Say the thing is fast, real fast. I would not considered it a full suspension by any means, even a soft tail is pushing it. It is closest to riding like a hardtail but grips a bit better. The pictures are below, as well as Schmidty's delivery he got while we were down there.

Saturday we rode Amasa Back and Slick Rock for almost five hours and went to dinner at the Moab Brewery with Schmidty Sr. and thanks for the dinner!

On Sunday I rode solo out to the Moab Rim Trail, I think that is where the granny gear was invented. Check out the pictures below from the weekend.
